'What did you think our our Second Opening Sequence? And what could be improved on?'

Reply was: 

"I found it very thrilling and interesting. I don't think I was quite scared or thrilled by it, but it was fairly interesting to watch. I think you could have made it more suspenseful."

My Niece, 11.

'How did you find our Second Opening Sequence? What do you think could be better for next time?' 

Reply was: 

"I think it was very good. I found it a bit scary and it made me think she committed a crime. I think the storyline could be better though."

Again, i interviewed two females of different ages and got different responses.

Evaluation Of Filming For Second Draft

This filming day took a lot longer than the last. I can honestly I only enjoyed it when it was almost ending. We spent a lot of time in my house trying to do the bathroom scene and it was very tiring. But after this, we still had to go to the skate park to film the walking scene. 

When at the skate park, many people were coming out and interrupting our filming process with questions like "What's this for?" It was really annoying. And as if things weren't bad enough, about half way through filming, thunder and lighting forced her to pack up and run home. Overall, it was a not so great filming experience.

The bag floated! We had to take sticks, take the bag out of the canal,
untie it and add more stone and try again. That's hard work.

Opening Sequence Draft Two

Adding a new character was decided by all my group members. Esere was added to the opening sequence as a pedestrian passing Shivonne. When Esere passes her, Shivonne grips onto the bag tighter. We done this to create suspicion and allow audience to wonder what the bag contains. 

However, adding a new character meant doing costume and props again, which was quite challenging since it was a last minute decision.

'What was your opinion of our Opening Sequence Draft One? What do you think could be improved?'

Reply was: 

"I think that it was really good. It fitted the Thriller genre well and built suspense and a lot of tension. But, at one point the past events (flashbacks) confused me and I found it hard to understand some of her actions. Overall, good job." 

My Cousin, 14.

'What was your opinion of our Opening Sequence Draft One? What do you think we could have improved on? 

Reply was:

"I enjoyed it. I love the multiple angles and the storyline was quite intriguing. I actually find myself fearing what will happen next, so that's a good thing I hope. I think sometimes the acting was a bit too much and it did spoil my enjoyment of watching it. Well done though."

I aimed to show and interview the same gender which is female as our target audience was firstly targeted to this gender and did this in a different age group to see the detail of their responses.

Film Review : 'All Good Things.' (2010)

15 - CRIME/THRILLER/MYSTERY

I watched this film a while ago and had to watch it again because I forgot majority of what happened. 

It is a film based on true events and explores the journey of a troubled man after his marriage. 

Ryan Gosling was treated in a bad way by his father after the death of his mother and never has been fully open to experiencing love. This film highlights how past events can dramatically effect the present and future tenses, Which our opening sequence also explores. 

The true based event makes the film all the more inciting to watch and engage with. And again it is the male that is the stereotypical dominant sex. 

I also love the fact that the film is full of secrets with some that reveal and some that don't so the audience are able to make their own interpretation of the storyline. Overall, very good film. 

Make-up

BLOOD:

Our group need a lot of blood for the bathroom scene when Kayla is scrubbing the floor. So we decided to make our very own blood.

We searched many techniques and ways of making blood, however, we narrowed them down to the best possible three. The link above was the one I thought was more pratical and cheaper for us to use a lot of it. Plus, it looks like real blood!

We thought the "Cocoa Blood"
was quite good to use,
however, the ingredients were quite expensive
so we didn't believe that this was the best one to use. 

Hollywood Style Fake Blood:

Ingredients

• 1/2 teaspoon red food coloring
• 1 tiny drop blue food coloring
• 1 tiny drop green food coloring (optional)
• 1 scant teaspoon flour, sifted
• 1 tablespoon corn syrup
• 1 small shallow glass or plastic bowl
• 1 toothpick
• Cooking spray
• Water (optional)
• Chocolate sauce (optional)
• Liquid laundry soap (optional) 

Directions:

1. Add flour and red food coloring to the mixing bowl.
2. Spritz your tablespoon with cooking spray and use it to add corn syrup to the mix.
3. Use the toothpick to add the tiniest drop of blue food coloring. You can always add more. Add the same amount of green food coloring if you need it to be more purple. Stir with a small whisk or spoon until well blended (and not lumpy).
4. Adjust the recipe using additional food coloring, chocolate sauce, water or laundry detergent (see below) as needed.

• We then saw this technique which was very helpful, but very expensive and hard to find many of its ingredients, so we decided this was not the best one to use.

In that case, the best one was the first one and so we decided to experiment with it. 

We added red food dye to half a cup of water first

Secondly- Esere added flour until
t was thick enough

Thirdly -We then used hunny instead of
syrup as it was cheaper

And easy as that - We made our own blood.

Many articles, photos and videos I found on making eye bags were about making them disappear instead making them! 

Despite that, I was able to find this video on how to make eye bags which we could use for Kayla to show her as something who has insomnia and psychotic. So we tried it:

Films I've Watched

The Negotiator (1998) - 15 - CRIME/ACTION/THRILLER

I've watched this film when I was younger but I watched it again properly 2 years ago when I was old enough to understand it and it has been my favourite film for a  very long time. 

I love the way the story unravels and shows an innocent man in a completely different light. The film is about a man who was an honourable Detective and put away disgusting men for committing unforgivable crimes. In the flash of the moment, he is accused of killing his partner and is taken away from his post.

The film continues to show his struggle in proving himself innocent and finding the man who really did kill his partner and through his method, he is deemed a "dangerous" man. 




The themes of loyalty and secrets really make me attracted to this film as it shows how quickly things can change and how quick people can change their opinions of people.
