Review Of 'Runaway'
The shot of Nicole is very effective as the next shot zooms in to her to see her head in her palms. I am immediately able to understand her emotion.
A plethora of angles are used as she is shown isolated on the inside of a bus. I find the close ups and the angle of Nicole's point of view to be very unique.
The music creates a story and depicts Nicole being depressed and lonely.
However, I feel that there could have been a wide range of music used instead of the same music being played in different scenarios.
I think the use of zooming and far angles are very effective. The fading transitions of her positions on the grass illustrate time passing, which they have used very well.
The camera shows her face as she is remembering something before showing a past event. I think this is shown clearly.
Overall, their opening sequence has a clear story and is easy to understand. I particularly like the ending as it leaves the audience with a sense of tension when the camera shows a close up of the text she receives after she is gone.
