Key Term Two : Colour Symbolism

Colour Symbolism

It conveys moods or the atmosphere of something. It can be used as a connotation to represent an abstract object or idea. For example:


                                                                                       

  • Red is a connotation of anger, excitement and in some cases, passion or love.
                                                                                       
  • The colour purple mainly symbolises royalty and wisdom.
                                                                                       
  • Whereas with the colour blue, it can symbolise tranquility and harmony, but also represents depression.
